Many of us diehard Tom Hardy fans could never ever imagine why anyone would want to cover up his beautiful face – or hot body for that matter.
So we are left perplexed as to why in a lot of his films, the 39-year-old heartthrob has his lovely, perfectly sculpted face hidden.
In Mad Max Fury Road, 80% of his face is covered by a scary Hannibal Lector-esq cage-mask thing.
And then in the Batman movie, The Dark Knight Rises, his character Bane has his face masked again – combined with a weird muffled voice, so we don’t even have the pleasure of his low, rugged voice to swoon over.
Then there’s The Revenant where he sports a trampy beard and bandana. Although admittedly, he still looks quite hot…
So the question stands, why are directors constantly hiding the gorgeousness of Mr Hardy from his adoring fans?
Well, all was revealed by Christoper Nolan, director of Dunkirk and The Dark Knight Rises.
He recently told the Press Association: “I was pretty thrilled with what he did in The Dark Knight Rises with two eyes and couple of eyebrows and a bit of forehead.”
So he wanted to give Tom another challenge in his next movie, which perhaps explains his role of a gas-mask-wearing spitfire pilot in Dunkirk.
“I thought let’s see what he can do with no forehead, no real eyebrows, maybe one eye,” he added.
Chris believes it’s a testament to Tom’s acting ability.
He explained:”Of course Tom, being Tom, what he does with single eye acting is far beyond what anyone else can do with their whole body, that is just the unique talent of the man, he’s extraordinary.”
Of course we appreciate the man’s incredible acting talents, who doesn’t?
But, let’s be honest, most of us would also like to see more of his beautiful face please.
