Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve probably heard the news: Beyoncé has finally unveiled her month-old twins to the world.
Sharing the first picture of herself with the twins on Instagram, Queen Bey wrote: ‘Sir Carter and Rumi 1 month today.’
Draped in a blue veil, standing in front of a floral archway, Beyonce’s newest photoshoot is definitely a throwback to her pregnancy shoot, which almost broke the internet.
Sure enough, within an hour, her latest post had clocked up a massive two million likes on Instagram.
The internet has been eagerly awaiting the twins since news first broke that Bey had given birth last month.
So naturally, the newest announcement blew up Twitter, too.
Reactions have ranged from sheer excitement to mild confusion about the Carters’ eccentric choice of names.
Plenty of Twitter users are feeling for Blue Ivy, who must be feeling pretty irrelevant right now.
The BBC has reported that Rumi might be named after a 13th century Persian poet.
And everyone knows that the oldest trend in celebrity baby-naming is giving your child honorific names – see Kim Kardashian’s Saint and Michael Jackson’s Prince – so Sir doesn’t come as a massive surprise.
YouTube star Kingsley wrote: ‘Beyoncé wrote “Sir Carter and Rumi” not “Sir and Rumi Carter” so is Rumi not a Carter or is Sir Carter Sir Carter Carter?’
Don’t worry Blue Ivy – we still love you.
