There’s a new hero on the New York art scene, and it’s not an up-and-coming artist.
Meet Bertram the chocolate Pomeranian, otherwise known as Bertie Bert, rescue dog and all-round good boy.
Bertie was adopted from a dog shelter by Kathy Grayson after being dumped by his former owner, who deemed him too big to sell.
But Kathy, who owns The Hole art gallery in Manhattan, saw star potential in Bertie when she spotted him on PetFinder.
She travelled all the way to Oklahoma to meet the pup, and now he’s the star of his own Instagram account, @bertiebertthepom.
On his Insta, you’ll find snaps of Bertie posing next to exciting new artwork as he accompanies Kathy to work every day.
Kathy told The Dodo: “He’s been to dozens of openings, scores of art fairs in NYC, Miami, L.A. and the Hamptons even.
“He’s been to Canada and Seattle and D.C., to clubs, restaurants, bars, even the opera once! His motto is ‘Happy to be included!”
We think Bertie’s possibly the best art gallery attendant we’ve ever seen – what do you think?
